24th Amendment

The right of citizens of the United States to vote in any primary or other election for President or Vice President, for electors for President or Vice President, or for Senator or Representative in Congress, shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or any State by reason of failure to pay any poll tax or other tax.

That you can’t be charged a poll tax when you vote for state and federal elections, And that it is unconstitutional.

They showed that if we still had poll taxes everyone would not be able to vote and the votes would not be fair. So they did away with that and everyone got to vote both rich and poor.

Msnbc news talked about how since the poll taxes are gone the lines are longer and every one rich or poor are able to vote now.
